mirror room, Saint Laurent, and no heels

didn’t make it to the petal drop, unfortunately. showed up at 7:30am, and it would have been 5 hour wait from then. not sure how all these people had so much time to spare on a weekend to wait in line for that long. I wish I was like those people, but I have so much other stuff to do! I’m jealous and hope it was worth it for them.

but on a positive note, went to a mirror room at the broad museum. http://www.thebroad.org/art/inaugural-installation

getting there is a bit tricky even with broad museum advance tickets, so read the info on their website and come early in the day. but even with all the trickiness, is was time well spent and totally worth it. the exhibit will end in April.

and.. on the way back home to make it just in time for a half-time Super Bowl performance (so glad I didn’t buy tickets to go see it! watching from home while making dinner was more fun than i thought)

dineLA and photoLA (it’s all about LA)

this weekend wasn’t much about macarons, or even Charlotte. but two exciting events happened in art and food scene. first, dineLA, which started for me with a fabulous dinner at Connie and Ted’s. it was a great choice of Tommy pie, as $39 per person included 3 course dinner plus a speciality cocktail (el Nino, pictured), and every single thing was out of this world delicious. and second, it was a photoLA weekend, where I spent half the day on Sunday. and that wasn’t even enough. there was so much amazing photography, that I felt emotionally overwhelmed by the end. wish I took more pictures of my favorite work, but felt uncomfortable photographing someone else’s art.
