we made it (and stayed for a hour or so, despite the overwhelming heat), but not early enough, as some of the foods that I wanted to try were already gone. oh well, that gives me a reason to come back, not like I need one..

in case you didn’t know, there is this happening in our neighborhood this Sunday. must attend for me and anyone who loves good food. which is everyone

some highlights here (click at your own risk)
see you there!
p.s. Charlotte will not be attending the event, as she expressed her concerns about high temperatures and overwhelming amount of food that she’s not allowed to have. she will stay indoors, safe and cool with her toys, and eat her chicken and rice

this cute French wine bar/retail just opened in Spring Arcade, can’t wait to check it out and try their wines and cheeses. hope they have macarons. they have to!

(yay to more cool new businesses in downtown!)
long overdue post. most of it is not timely, but there were some macarons. and some Charlotte. less words, more pictures.

LAart show was a highlight of the weekend. but not the only one.
Bringing back Broaday
http://nightonbroadway.la was a success also. saw a few Broadway theaters (thanks to resident pass wristband, as the lines were outrageous), one contemporary dance show, one burlesque show, Aloe blacc live performance (http://www.aloeblacc.com, who I already have seen at coachella last year, but why not?), had one sausage from my favorite sausage place in downtown http://www.bierbeisl-imbiss.com (which will satisfy all your sausage needs), and a taco from what Tommy pie refers to as a “healthy” taco place http://www.yelp.com/biz/casita-taco-al-carbon-los-angeles?utm_source=ishare (my second time here, and I liked it more than first time. my recommendation is shrimp taco with a hard shell)
that being said, if you didn’t have a chance to make it this year, they are already planning for 2017, which will be on January 28. I’m already looking forward to that, if I still live on Broadway by then.
but back to LAart show. http://www.laartshow.com. amazing art, great people watching, and a lot of fun. not to miss next year.
here are my personal highlights

this weekend wasn’t much about macarons, or even Charlotte. but two exciting events happened in art and food scene. first, dineLA, which started for me with a fabulous dinner at Connie and Ted’s. it was a great choice of Tommy pie, as $39 per person included 3 course dinner plus a speciality cocktail (el Nino, pictured), and every single thing was out of this world delicious. and second, it was a photoLA weekend, where I spent half the day on Sunday. and that wasn’t even enough. there was so much amazing photography, that I felt emotionally overwhelmed by the end. wish I took more pictures of my favorite work, but felt uncomfortable photographing someone else’s art.
zara jeans (ripped them myself), h&m ankle boots, Zara tshirt, h&m jacket (I cut off the hood), mango bucket bag, goorin bros hat
